 Welcome to Y4

This year the class have some very exciting topics to enhance their learning.

During the autumn term the children will discover what it was like to live in Ancient Greece. Literacy will link to Greek Myths and legends and in science we will discover the inner workings of our body.

The spring term will see us develop an understanding of volcanoes before moving on to discover just what the Romans did for us. Sometime will be spent looking at traditional tales – perhaps just a little mixed up.

In the summer term we look at our local history – Just who do you think you are?

Throughout the year the children will consolidate literacy and numeracy skills by applying them across the curriculum, in real life situations and within out STEM work.

PE will include dance, gymnastics and boxing and the children will take part in both the poetry recital and Singing Festival. Sewing will be an on-going project throughout the year.

Y4 is an important year for sacramental preparation with those within the class who are Catholic preparing for the sacraments of Reconciliation and Holy Communion.

Parents can keep up with all our news through our class and the whole school Dojo Pages
